Each May, on Stuffed with Hugs™ day, Guests are invited to visit any Build-A-Bear Workshop^® store in the world and make a bear for free that is donated by Build-A-Bear Workshop to a worthy cause.

In just six years we have donated over 215,000 teddy bears in our communities through our Stuffed with Hugs program. An international cause initiative, this program has helped kids in need around the world by providing teddy bear hugs to children's causes. Since the program began, we have donated to children's hospitals, firefighters and police officers, the USO, UNICEF and many other worthy organisations.

This past year on May 20, our Guests helped us make over 50,000 teddy bears that were given to Ronald McDonald House Charities^® for children that were receiving medical treatment away from home. More than 6,000 families find temporary residence each day at the more than 258 Ronald McDonald Houses around the world.

Serena Williams led the way, making the first Stuffed with Hugs bears and kicking off a pawsome global, charitable bear making event.
